(ANTIMEDIA) The shooting of 12 year-old Tamir Rice by police in Cleveland, Ohio might be one of the most disturbing police involved shootings of 2014.
A grand jury is set to decide the fate of officers Timothy Loehmann and Frank Garmback at some time in the near future.
In a recent development, the full video of the shooting was released. It goes to further illustrate the absolutely reprehensible psychopathy displayed in the actions of the two officers involved in the murder, and where their priorities were at during the situation.
The video reveals that after Tamir was shot, as he was laying on the ground dying with no medical attention, the officers focused their efforts on detaining his teenage sister, who ran to the scene.
As she ran to see Tamir during the last minutes of his life, she was knocked to the snowy ground by police, repeatedly pushed to the ground as she tried to sit up and see Tamir as he died.
The video can be viewed below, at your discretion.
Concerned community members were pushing for a third party to investigate the shooting, and it was decided that
“The sheriff’s department will hand its evidence over to Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Timothy McGinty’s office. Prosecutors will present the case to a grand jury, which will decide whether to criminally charge officers involved in the shooting.”
However, the mother of the boy murdered by police doesn’t care who investigates it, she just wants the killer to be charged for the murder.
“What our family is worried about is, are (the officers) going to be held accountable for the murder of my son,” said the mother, Samaria Rice.
In case you did not know, the officer who murdered Tamir had a history of being unstable, but was hired as a cop in Cleveland anyway.
A Wikipedia page about this shooting says-
“In a memo to Independence’s human resources manager, released by the city in the aftermath of the shooting, the Police Department’s deputy chief described Loehmann as an emotionally unstable recruit with an “inability to perform basic functions as instructed”. He specifically cited a “dangerous loss of composure” that occurred in a weapons training exercise, during which Leohmann’s weapons handling was “dismal” and he became visibly “distracted and weepy” as a result of relationship problems. The memo concluded, “Individually, these events would not be considered major situations, but when taken together they show a pattern of a lack of maturity, indiscretion and not following instructions, I do not believe time, nor training, will be able to change or correct these deficiencies.””
Please share this with as many people as possible; after the killers of Michael Brown, Eric Garner, and several other unarmed people were let off the hook, some say the Tamir Rice case is a kind of last hope for justice.
